In Washington State aquatic toxicity testing (Publication 80-12), superoxalloy abrasive produced zero fish fatalities at both 10 ppm and 100 ppm in water, concentrations well beyond typical exposure. Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) testing confirms that spent media is not classified as hazardous waste under EPA’s toxicity characteristic limits. The abrasive is also recognized by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), and meets U.S. Department of Defense specification MIL-PRF-22262C.
