10X Superoxalloy Abrasives Reduce Rust Bloom
Rust bloom often occurs before newly cleaned steel surfaces can be coated, causing the need for additional surface prep work that can lead to unplanned cost increases and project delays. Most commonly used abrasive media are a source of the salts that contribute to rust bloom. 10X superoxalloy abrasives are different. Because they create an exceptionally smooth surface, rust bloom is delayed without any need for chemicals. This video shows a demonstration of rust bloom development in humid Houston, TX, conditions. The rust bloom on the copper slag-cleaned surface begins on day one. By day three, the copper slag and garnet-blasted surfaces have completely rusted, while the 10X superoxalloy surface remains clear (where not contaminated by garnet).
